Senior Software Engineer

Objective and Purpose

The Senior Software Engineer is a central position within R&D, typically software developers who focus on product development in (Agile) DLP projects and software maintenance of existing products. He/she performs needed evaluations with relevant stakeholders to understand the unique goals of each project and then develops and maintains software to broaden of our products and offerings. He/she provides software development leadership and guidance for the less experienced engineers.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Responsible for designing and implementing optimal software solutions with regards to functionality, reliability, performance and implementation time
Support in resolution of customer issues and work with software maintenance and refactoring of existing products
Understand customer and stakeholder requirements and how they translate in software features
Identify technical debt and drive refactoring to increase maintainability
Responsible for adhering to operational documents and procedures
Reduce low quality and defects and development lead time by rigorous adherence to agile methods
Stay abreast with technical developments and new technologies in relevant areas
Identify synergies between products with respect to software and collaborate to align coding practices and solutions in different teams
Coach other software engineers in design and implementation in an efficient and high-quality way maximizing customer value
Create technical and design documentation
Initiate and participate in design and code reviews and collaborate with colleagues to execute improvements both in technology and way of working
Responsible for verification of own software modules and to participate in the verification of the complete software product. Promote and contribute to test automation

Requirements

Qualifications and Work Experience

Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree in computer science or related area
At least 8 years’ experience of designing and programming software
Experience in agile software development and development life cycles

Excellent general IT skills

Very good skills of applicable programming languages, methods and tools
Knowledge and deep understanding of latest relevant technology
Strong problem diagnosis and problem-solving skills
Very good knowledge of the software development process (DLP) and applicable knowledge of quality regulations in the medical device industry and other relevant areas

QA / Test Engineer

Objective and Purpose

The Test Engineer is responsible for determining how to best tests for our products and offerings as part of implementation within a Development Launch project. With testing we assure that products meet applicable specifications. The Test Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by our developers fits its purpose

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Perform tasks with integration and verification of company products/systems within Projects
Closely collaborate with developers and other project members within Global R&D
Create test cases (manual and automatic) for verification activities; perform tests, to ensure that the design and development outputs meet the input requirements
The Test Engineer is responsible in planning, implementation, execution, reporting as well as for documentation of the defined test activities according to company processes
Ensure high-quality and compliance with regulatory applicable standards for example (ISO development, environmental, health and safety and other applicable): this is with regards to products being tested as well as with regards to own work behaviour (e.g. applying safety regulations when working with electrical equipment).
Identify and share improvement opportunities in the test processes
Report found defects in test object in our defect tracking system
Report progress and test result

Requirements

Qualifications and Work Experience

At least bachelor’s degree in IT, Software Engineering, or relevant experience in similar field
A minimum of 3 years work experience in similar position
2 years of working experience in agile development and fast-paced environment
Familiarity with standard test processes for Software verification (ISTQB Foundation certification or similar)
